You have to figure out what the modifiers do and then you have to figure out how to break the AI by exploiting them not actually reading+reacting like a normal fighting game. They're the very definition of cheap with that design or trolling. I'm not sure what the hell they were thinking with that but it's annoying and definitely not a "git gud" situation. The modifiers in there are ridiculous and the AI just reads all your inputs. Also, their co-op towers might be the most trollworthy shit I've ever seen in a game. At least they didn't turn MK11 into a grindfest RPGish fighting game like they did Injustice 2. It's 1000x better than Injustice bullshit gear system though so it's progress.
They try to flavor it up but it doesn't work in a fighting game, imo. It's shitty design that they seem to be obsessed with in Injustice/MK where it's all busywork tasks.

I actually think modifiers create bad gaming habits for you when you're trying to do things like make muscle memory on combos. The Open Series is the best way to get a feel for Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate competition. The Towers of Time with their bullshit modifiers are not fun to go through at times and it teaches you nothing on how to play the game since modifiers create unrealistic situations. They fucked up big time on how they have skins and unlocks too. Hell, I can name many fighters gameplay wise I'd take over MK11 that released in the past few years. Gameplay wise Tekken 7 is way better than MK11. I'd argue maybe as an entire package it is content heavier than other fighters but that doesn't make it the best. Eh, I've played it since it came out but it's far from the best fighting game.
